After the unencouraging draw against Levante in which Joan Laporta witnessed and was displeased with, the president decided to meet with coach Ronald Koeman to discuss some issues.

The meeting was held at a restaurant and it was for Laporta to get an explanation on why Barcelona have been so poor on the pitch recently and have realistically lost the league title in the process.

According to Spanish outlet Sport, the meeting which was among Laporta, Koeman and vice President Rafa Yuste went well as there was tranquility throughout.

Another report from Mundo Deportivo also revealed that Koeman was asked about using another tactical plan which is different from the 3-5-2 formation to enable the team to be more effective in attack.

Koeman’s continuity as the club’s coach has been in doubt recently, but that wasn’t discussed in the meeting, neither did Laporta tell him that he will continue beyond this season.

The things that were examined are just sporting results and the poor performances in recent weeks. So, the decision on whether Koeman will continue as Barca coach next season is expected to be made after the season is over.
